Our Last Days in Suisse
August 1st thru 5th

Teri was continually amazed by the flower boxes hanging from virtually every window sill in Switzerland.

This was just a rest stop on the way up Lukmanier Pass.
Rest Stop
As usual the view from the top of any pass, including Lukmanier, is not done justice by the photograph.
Lukmanier Pass
From the balcony of Fessi's home in Caslano you can look across the lake to the villages on the other side, or simply relax with a book and a bier.
Teri's Favorite Spot
The view from the balcony was just one of the reasons we spent so much time sitting there.
What A View
The village of Morcote is across the lake from Caslano and features boat parking so you can stop for food and refreshments.
Morcote Switzerland
Morcote is of course another one of those villages that predates even Christopher Columbus, with streets that were designed for goat carts, not cars.
Quite the street, huh?
Speaking of cars, Teri found her next convertible.  It's doubtful that our insurance company would cooperate too well on a Maseratti concept car though.

Georgio's soon became our favorite eatery.  As you can see behind Sylvia, wine is not something that Georgio will un out of.
Wine Anyone?
Georgio was talked into a photo with the two American tourists.
Georgio of Georgio's
If these two look relatively sober, it's because Fessi's birthday party hadn't really gotten under way.

Rugal, Fessi's sister Betty's boyfriend on the right and Stephan a friend of Fessi's.  Stepan spent the later part of the evening trying to find Grappa for Joe.  Grappa is a grape based schnapps and Joe was happy that he never found it!
Stephan and Rugal
More old friends of Fessi's.  Does anyone in this photo look like they dress differently??
Christof and Liz rode to the Free Willi Bike run with us in Germany.
Christof and Liz
It seems that Swiss just don't have the Swiss flag tattooed on them very often, so it's even more unusual when they find an American with a Swiss flag and the Matterhorn tattooed on his arm.
New Ink??
There is nothing like an American trying to understand what a Swiss is saying on a microphone in Swiss-German when both of them have been drinking.
Can Anybody Understand Him??
This is from the top of Gotthard Pass overlooking a little souvenir kiosk.  Those damn cows are everywhere it seems.
Strange Place For A Cow
The top of the Gotthard Pass, without the cow on a stick.

We sure hated to leave this beautiful country..........
