The Badlands &
The Black Hills of South Dakota

Our departure from Kansas turned out to be just in time...

The day after we left, tornadoes struck too close to where we had been staying. That is they were in the same state, actually the next county over.

We decided that tornado season would best be viewed from a distance, like a state line or two away. South Dakota seemed reasonably far enough. Besides, Teri had never seen Mount Rushmore or the Badlands.

So...after two months of seeing nothing much higher than sea level on the horizon than the next over-pass, Joe is finally able to get a better fix on our direction using mountains. Okay, they really are nothing much more than hills but they will have to do until we reach the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming.
