Tucson & The Sonora Desert

When Joe was young(er), his aunt Ruth lived Tucson and his parents brought the kids there to stay while they went to Mexico and played. Since he had not seen the area since he was in his single digits we decided that a couple days near Tucson would be in order.

Since Joe was last here, things have changed, somewhat. There is now a county campground smack in the middle of the Tucson Mountain Park. Although they are kind of proud of their spaces, they are the only game in the area and it is worth the twenty bucks a night to stay there.

We only spent two nights in the area but we had the opportunity to tour three of the prettiest places in Arizona. Arizona Desert Sonoran Museum, San Xavier del Bac Mission and the Saguaro National Park. All within just a few miles of the Gilbert Ray Campground were we nested for a couple nights.
