Our departure from Cody

Christmas Day 2004 was blessed by good weather and clear roads. We had been concerned about weather and road conditions for the previous week. As anyone who has ever traveled in the state of Wyoming in the winter can attest to, things can get pretty slippery even if you are only driving a car, let alone a 50 foot plus truck and 5th wheel rig.

Our first night out found us camping in luxury at a grocery store parking lot in Heber City Utah. There is probably a city ordinance regarding camping in parking lots in Heber City but the local law enforcement officials undoubtedly felt sorry for the poor folks in the 5th wheel trying to brave the night temperatures of +5º without any water in their fresh water tank. We survived on bottled water for ALL neccessities until our arrival at Mad Mikes house in Kingman Arizona on the 26th.

Our plan for this first part of the trip was to be at Foxes on the Colorado River south of Parker Dam for New Years.

From there we would spend a couple of weeks squatting beside Fuzzy and Marys house in Lake Havasu City. Somewhere we were planning on escaping to San Clemente for about five days to see Shawn.

After that it would be a weekend on the Oatman Road with Buck and Charlene from Vegas and then we head east, to where???
